The mid 1980'S marked the advent of the PC era. IT storage was not well understood and people became frustrated at the unreliable methods available for storing information. The founders of Maxtec identified this frustration and took the opportunity to provide storage solutions, such as tape drives to individuals and small companies looking to store valuable information while maintaining its accessibility.

The company began by focusing on PC storage and, as more sophisticated enterprise storage solutions came to the market, beginning in the late 1990's, Maxtec partnered with leading organisations to bring  such solutions to South Africa.

Since then, Maxtec has evolved its solution set to include both storage, security and networking solutions and services including the design, implementation and maintenance of   the products that it supplies.

The directors of Maxtec are proud to provide the sole representation to a number of leading international storage vendors in South Africa ranging from simple peripherals' providers through to complex storage solution providers.
